The Oakland Raiders are not slated to make their move to Las Vegas until 2020. With their lease in Oakland expiring at the end of this year, the Raiders' 2019 season plans are up in limbo. But a new contender to host the Raiders' home games next year has now emerged.

According to FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer, the city of London has become a candidate to host the Raiders games in 2019.

Per Glazer's report, other NFL owners have brought up the option of playing in London with the Raiders.

The NFL currently has an International Series in London, and already has four games scheduled to be played in the city in 2019. The Raiders were one of three teams to host a London game in 2018, along with the Jaguars and Chargers.

NFL International Series games have historically done very well in terms of attendance. Each of the three games played this past year at Wembley Stadium drew crowds of at least 84,000 each time.

Not a single game in London has ever had fewer than 73,000 fans in attendance.

The NFL has toyed with the idea of a franchise in London for a long time, so a year with one team playing multiple home games in the British capital might be just the sample size they need to determine the idea's viability.
