The Los Angeles Chargers insist they are set at quarterback, but Vegas continues to think they will sign Cam Newton.
As of today, the Chargers remain the overwhelming betting favorite to sign the 2015 NFL MVP. Newton was released by the Carolina Panthers after nine seasons last week.
According to FOXBet, LA is at -137 to add Newton. The team with the next-best odds, the Jacksonville Jaguars, are just +375, while the Miami Dolphins are +450.
Right now, Tyrod Taylor is the starting quarterback for the Chargers. The team allowed Philip Rivers to walk in free agency and is widely expected to draft a quarterback with its first-round pick next month.

While many are pegging Newton to land in Los Angeles, Taylor remains confident in his ability to function as the Chargers’ starter. As the Buffalo Bills’ primary QB in 2017, he helped the franchise earn its first playoff berth in nearly two decades.
“We have a lot of talent on our team,” Taylor told Orange County Register yesterday. “If I am the guy that would be calling the shots, I know for sure that we’ll go out and turn a lot of heads.”
Taylor completed 4-of-6 passes for 33 yards and a touchdown as LA’s backup last season.
