Update 2: Rapoport is reporting that the injury is a stress fracture of his fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

Update: Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that James will be out a "significant" amount of time after injuring his foot. So far, there is no official word on the exact injury. Either way, this doesn't sound great.

There are a handful of stars currently nursing injuries this preseason, and unfortunately we can add one more to the list. With the regular season less than a month away, it appears Derwin James is dealing with a leg injury.

James was incredible for the Chargers in his rookie season, finishing with 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three interceptions. His production in his first year earned him All-Pro honors.

Although the Chargers expect another strong year from James, the team may have to put those expectations on hold.

It turns out that James has walking boot on his right leg and will not practice on Friday, per Chargers reporter Eric Williams.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but it's safe to say fans in Los Angeles are collectively holding their breath.

Los Angeles lost wide receiver Keenan Allen to an injury in training camp early this week as well.

The Chargers are having a busy training camp as they prepare for Week 1 against the Colts.

In addition to dealing with injuries, the front office has to figure out contract negotiations with running back Melvin Gordon.

As for James, there should be more details about his injury available by the end of this week.
