Browns All-Pro Tackle Joe Thomas: Joey Bosa Is Most Polished Rookie Pass Rusher He's Seen

Joey Bosa has turned many heads during his rookie season for the San Diego Chargers, including that of Joe Thomas, one of the NFL's best offensive tackles.

In just 10 games, Bosa has 7.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. He's been so impressive on tape, that Thomas says he is the "most polished" rookie pass rusher he's seen.

“As far as rookies go, he’s the most polished pass rusher that I’ve ever seen,” Browns 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas said. “He’s got a natural instinct about counter pass rush moves and using his hands to beat an offensive lineman that you don’t really see out of rookies. He looks like an eight-year vet out there the way he tries to get after the quarterback. Another thing that always stands out when you watch him is just the effort.”

The Browns had the chance to draft the Ohio State standout with the second overall pick, but wound up trading out of the spot. The Philadelphia Eagles acquired the pick to take quarterback Carson Wentz, and the Chargers scooped up Bosa with the next pick.
