On Wednesday afternoon, new Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs started a trend on social media that NFL players around the country have carried on.
Diggs, fresh off of a trade to Buffalo from Minnesota, asked everyone to name the five best wide receivers in NFL history. Although Diggs didn’t mention his top five, other football players took on the challenge.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen revealed his top five wide receivers in league history. Allen, considered one of the best route runners in the NFL, put out a solid list.
Of course, Jerry Rice had to make the list. Joining Rice on the list were Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.
Here’s his list.

Randy Moss and Jerry Rice are the two wide receivers that have been on most of the lists floating around.
Other names mentioned as possible candidates for most lists are Julio Jones and Antonio Brown. Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent is a notable contender for a lot of lists as well.
There’s no perfect answer, which makes this such a great exercise. Fans and players from around the country can participate and give their opinions on the debate.
