The Los Angeles Chargers made their own power move in the AFC West arms race today, trading for Chicago Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack.

The Chargers are obviously hoping Mack can team up with Joey Bosa to wreak havoc in a division that includes Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr and the newly-acquired Russell Wilson at quarterback. Even LA's offensive players are pumped about the move.

Star wide receiver Keenan Allen tweeted a message shortly after news of the deal broke.

"Scary hours," Allen wrote.

Mack was hampered by injuries and limited to seven games in 2021, but still recorded six sacks. Before this year, he started all 16 games in six of his first seven pro seasons.

Acquired via trade with the then-Los Angeles Raiders before the 2018 season, Mack tallied 36 sacks in 53 games in Chicago.

He has 76.5 total sacks in 117 appearances as a pro.
