The arctic blast that was supposed to hit Kansas City for Sunday's AFC Championship Game now looks like it isn't happening. Whatever the weather is, Andy Reid will be prepared.
Today's temps in Kansas City are hovering right around freezing. Reid is dressed for a tropical vacation, from the waist down.
Chiefs beat writer Brooke Pryor tweeted a picture of Reid today on the practice field in shorts.
Reid may be an LA native, but he's coached in Green Bay, Philadelphia and now Kansas City. He knows his way around cold climates.
Unfortunately, he won't be able to wear shorts during the game on Sunday. That would be quite a fashion statement if he could.
The Chiefs host the New England Patriots on Sunday with an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl for the first time in nearly 50 years. The last time Kansas City played in the big game was Super Bowl IV in January 1970.
Kickoff is set for 6:40 p.m. ET on CBS. The two teams met earlier in the season, with New England pulling out a win at Gillette Stadium.
The last three times the Patriots have played an AFC Championship game on the road, they've lost, so KC is clearly hoping history repeats itself.
