Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler is under fire after he posted a photo go himself next to a dead bear on a hunt.

The ex-Chicago quarterback reportedly took down a cinnamon black bear with a bolt action rifle while in Montana, saying that his "bear hunt was in the books" in a post on social media.

Many animal lovers were upset to see the post from Cutler, and they criticized the former quarterback.

"Seems unnecessary cruel to just indiscriminately kill a bear that was minding their own business," one fan said.

"He's historically been pretty good at that," one fan said in response to the news that Cutler killed a bear.

"Him and Urlacher try to outdo each other on who can be the worst former Chicago Bears of all time," another fan said.

Cutler last played in 2017, spending his his final NFL season with the Miami Dolphins.

He is likely best known for his time with both the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. Cutler led the Bears to the NFC Championship game before suffering an injury in what would turn out to be a loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.

In retirement, it seems that Culter is taking up hunting as a new hobby.
