Congratulations everyone. Your “the Patriots will sign Antonio Brown” half-jokes have reportedly turned into a reality.
After perhaps the craziest off-season we’ve seen for a star athlete, Brown was cut by the Oakland Raiders this morning. The team fined Brown, and got out of his nearly $30 million contract guarantees.
As a result, he refused to play under an unguaranteed contract. This morning, he became a free agent once again.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus didn’t waste much time in finding a landing spot, and it is a doozy. As first reported by Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion, he is coming to terms with the New England Patriots.

Rosenhaus has reportedly confirmed the move himself, per ProFootballTalk.
And there it is. Drew Rosenhaus says Antonio Brown has agreed to terms with the Patriots.

Once he is good to go, if he makes his way on to the field and isn’t dealing with bizarre health issues or helmet chicanery, Brown may help form one of the most dangerous wide receiving units in the NFL.
He joins Josh Gordon, an ultra-talented receiver with his own baggage, and dynamic slot receiver Julian Edelman as major weapons for Tom Brady.
The New England Patriots haven’t shied away from taking shots on elite players with character concerns in the past. Antonio Brown brings plenty of those after an outrageous string of issues dating back to last season, but he also may be the best wide receiver in the NFL.
