A new city, a new team and a new number. Antonio Brown has underwent plenty of changes over the past couple weeks. His time in Oakland was short. Now, he's hoping he fits in well with New England. His first performance in a Patriots uniform — four receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown — was a great start.
Brown is hoping for to resurrect his image. And as apart of that process, he's wearing a new jersey number. Brown wore No. 84 for the duration of his nine-year career in Pittsburgh.
But as fans saw this past Sunday, the star receiver is now donning No. 17. The same number his father wore when he played in the Arena Football League.
In a newly released YouTube video titled 'WHY I CHOSE 17!', Brown explains his reasoning for changing numbers. He also goes into greater detail regarding his relationship with his father — Eddie Brown.
"You known my dad always inspired me," Brown said in the newly released video. "You know what I mean. From his work ethic. following commitment. No. 17, you know I've seen that guy make a lot of touchdowns. Dedicated his life, sacrificed his life. We got so much similarities."
Brown and the Patriots are back on the field this Sunday versus the struggling New York Jets.
