The first preseason game for the Cleveland Browns is winding to a close. Rookie sensation Baker Mayfield wrapped up his first performance early in the fourth quarter of the Brown's game against the New York Giants.
Mayfield's NFL debut got off to a rocky start after some conservative play-calling. However, in his second series on the field, Mayfield connected with tight end David Njoku for a short touchdown pass.
The former Oklahoma star looked skittish in the pocket at times, but settled down over the course of the second and third quarters. Mayfield hit fourth-round pick Antonio Callaway over the middle for a 54-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Overall, it was a solid start to his professional career for Mayfield.
Mayfield finished the night 11-of-20 passing for 212 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball three times for 13 yards.
It's only the first preseason game, but the Baker Mayfield hype train is running like a well-oiled machine.
