Angel Reese Going Viral On Sideline Before Sunday Night Football
Angel Reese is in the middle of the first offseason of her WNBA career, which means the Baltimore native is able to get back home to spend time with friends and family.
Reese is at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday night for the Baltimore Ravens' showdown with the 3-0 Buffalo Bills. Coming off a season-saving win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, the Ravens will look to make it two in a row against a Bills team whose quarterback, Josh Allen, is playing the position as well as anyone in the world at the moment.
Before the game, Reese recorded a quick message for Ravens fans, which the team shared on its X/Twitter account.
"Hey guys, I'm super excited to be in Baltimore, back home, supporting the home team. Go Flock!" Reese says in the clip.
While Reese's rookie year in the WNBA ended prematurely due to injury, she impressed before getting hurt, breaking the league record for consecutive double-doubles and ultimately leading the W in rebounding.
Last week, Reese dealt with one of the first major setbacks of her young career when her team, the Chicago Sky, unexpectedly fired head coach Teresa Weatherspoon after one season.
"I’m heartbroken. I’m literally lost for words knowing what this woman meant to me in such a pivotal point in my life," Reese said after the news broke. "She was the only person that believed in me. The one that trusted me. Many don’t even know what it’s like to be a black woman in sports when nobody believes in you. You had a tough job. All the crazy circumstances that we went through this year & when your back was against the wall, you always believed. I came to Chicago because of YOU."
Ravens-Bills will get underway at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
