Bears vs. Lions preview:
The Lions, after starting the season 1-3, have come out of seemingly nowhere to win seven of their last eight games. Matt Stafford is having the best season of his career—without Calvin Johnson, no less—and last week the defense was able to hold Drew Brees and the Saints to just 13 points in the Superdome. This team is legit, they're first place in the NFC North, and they're not afraid of anyone this year.
The Bears, who are bad, took down the even-more-bad 49ers on Sunday in a snowy imbroglio of a game. Jordan Howard rushed 32 times for 117 yards and three touchdowns, and that was pretty much the story of the game. Matt Barkley was dreadful in the first half, but passing the ball was impossible for both teams (whether that was due to the players or the conditions—or a combination of both—is debatable). He salvaged a 192 yard, 11-of-18 performance despite the Bears receiving corps dropping what felt like 100 passes.
Bears vs. Lions prediction:
The Lions defense will have a tough time containing Jordan Howard, but the offense will be putting up plenty of points, forcing the Bears to throw the ball. The Lions get ahead early and don't look back. Stafford punishes a depleted Bears defense and throws for over 300 yards once again.
