Saquon Barkley made arguably the biggest move of the NFL offseason when he left the New York Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

Barkley, a former No. 2 overall pick, was once considered the Giants' franchise player.

An extended contract dispute between the team and the running back eventually altered their relationship beyond repair, and Barkley chose to sign with a division rival.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll spoke on Barkley's move to Philadelphia, and he was clear about how he felt about Barkley after his decision to sign with the Eagles.

"This is what it is every year in the NFL. You meet great people, whether it's coaches, players, staff members, and unfortunately everybody doesn't stick together the entire time, it's not what it was 30, 40 years ago," Daboll told the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

"I've got a tremendous amount of respect for Saquon and all the players that went on to other places. It's a special group when you're going through an NFL season, you've got to go through ups and downs. Wish him all the best except when he is playing the Giants."

Daboll and the Giants will be seeing Barkley twice a year for the foreseeable future, with Barkley signing a multi-year deal with the Eagles.

The Giants and Eagles rivalry has been one of the more spirited in the NFL, and Barkley's move to Philadelphia should only increase the animosity between the two teams.

We'll see how things go when Daboll's Giants meet Barkley's Eagles in their two meetings in 2024.
