Odell Beckham Jr. was a lightning rod for attention and criticism in New York. Now that he’s in Cleveland, it’s a fresh start, though some fans and media grumbled that he missed the Browns’ voluntary workouts this spring.
Olivier Vernon was Beckham’s teammate with the Giants and will be this season again in Cleveland. Both were shipped to the Browns in separate trades.
Vernon has a message for those who criticize the dynamic wide receiver: back off. Appearing on the radio today, Vernon stuck up for Beckham.
“If you never met the guy, don’t know the guy, just keep your mouth shut,” he said.
#Browns DE @oliviervernon54 on @BullandFox on Odell: "He gets a bad rap, I don't know where the hell they got that from. If you never met the guy, don't know the guy, just keep your mouth shut. I played w the guy 3 yrs, now going on my 4th yr, he's a great teammate, great person"

Despite some of his brushes with management, Beckham by all accounts had a great relationship with teammates in New York. He’s not T.O.; the guys he plays with genuinely like him.
Any Browns fans or media members that are complaining about Beckham now will likely be singing a different tune come this fall.
There are few in the NFL who can produce like he can, when healthy.
