On Wednesday, Browns coach Freddie Kitchens revealed that Odell Beckham Jr. was dealing with a minor injury. Although it's being diagnosed as just a hip pointer, the star wideout could be out until next week.
Beckham is undoubtedly Cleveland's biggest addition as it prepares for the 2019 season. General manager John Dorsey wants to see how dynamic the offense can be now that Baker Mayfield has two versatile wide receivers.
However, Mayfield will have to wait at least one more week until he throws passes to Beckham in an actual game.
According to Browns report Mary Kay Cabot, Beckham is most likely going to sit out this weekend's preseason showdown against the Colts.
This will mark back-to-back preseason games without Beckham making an appearance.
He also missed team drills for the Browns during practice for the second-straight day.
Beckham hasn't played a full season since 2016.
The All-Pro wide receiver missed most of the 2017 season due to a fractured left ankle. Last season, he missed the final four games because of a bruised quad.
Cleveland can give Beckham plenty of time to reach full strength before Week 1 of the regular season.
At this point, the Browns could just be taking the safe approach to ensure that Beckham remains healthy for the season opener against the Titans.
