Buccaneers vs. 49ers preview:
The Bucs are coming off a bye week after beating the Panthers 17-14 a week before on Monday night, a game in which the Bucs showed that even with Doug Martin out they can still pound the rock, seeing that Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 101 yards on 30 carries. This Tampa Bay team has talent—they beat the Falcons in week one after all—but they've struggled mightily to execute on a week-to-week basis. When Jameis Winston plays well (like week one!) the Bucs are tough to beat.
The 49ers benched Blaine Gabbert in favor of Colin Kaepernick and still lost in humiliating fashion to the Bills, 45-16. It looked like the 49ers would be competitive, only trailing by four going into the half, but things went off the rails in the second half withe Bills scoring 21 in the fourth. The defense is bad, the offensive line is worse; the rest of the season is looking like a wash for the 49ers.
Buccaneers vs. 49ers prediction:
Someone unfortunately has to win this game, and I'm thinking it's going to be the Buccaneers. The 49ers defense let LeSean McCoy run all over them, and they'll probably let Rodriguez do the same. I expect Jameis Winston to come off the bye week and have an elite-level performance against a reeling 49ers squad.
