Buccaneers vs. Chargers preview:

The Buccaneers (6-5) are fresh off of a 14-5 win over the Seahawks giving them their third straight win. The Chargers (5-6) picked up a 21-13 win over the Texans last week giving them their second win in their last three games.

San Diego was held to just 302 yards of total offense, but found a way to get the job done in Houston. It certainly wasn't pretty, but a win is a win. Philip Rivers went 22-for-30 through the air for 242 yards, three touchdowns and one pick. Melvin Gordon had a nice day with 70 yards rushing on 17 carries.

The Buccaneers looked stellar last week, particularly on defense, in their win over Seattle. Tampa Bay held the Seahawks to just 245 total yards on the day. James Winston was strong for the Bucs passing for 220 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Doug Martin was a workhorse as well with 87 yards on the ground on 23 rush attempts.

The Chargers are 8-2 all-time in regular season meetings against the Buccaneers.

Buccaneers vs. Chargers Prediction:

The Buccaneers looked strong last week against Seattle and with that, they may have found something. Both teams have been a bit inconsistent this season, particularly on the defensive side of the ball as both teams rank in the bottom half of the league.

With that, Rivers and Winston should put up strong numbers, but Winston may be the better quarterback at this point in time. Winston and the confident Buccaneers go on the road and beat the Chargers.
