A rookie quarterback will be making his first NFL start on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills square off against the Los Angeles Chargers. The No. 7 pick from the 2018 NFL draft, Josh Allen, is the guy for Buffalo this weekend.

Allen gets the call after Nathan Peterman struggled to get anything going against a stout Baltimore Ravens defense. Peterman completed 5-of-18 passing for just 24 yards and two interceptions.

Allen replaced Peterman and connected on 6-of-15 passing for 74 yards. The former Wyoming quarterback was expected to sit for the majority of the year while the Bills prepped him for the 2019 season.

However, due to the ineffectiveness of Peterman, Buffalo turns to Allen, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Allen gets a tough first opponent in a Chargers defense that could be without star defensive lineman Joey Bosa.

Buffalo hosts Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. The teams kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
