NFL Team Hiring Fans To Shovel Stadium Ahead Of This Weekend's Snowstorm
Winter is coming, so the Buffalo Bills are making sure they do whatever they can to ensure Highmark Stadium is as clean as possible for the rest of the season.
On Sunday night, the Bills will face the San Francisco 49ers. There's a chance that Orchard Park will get over a foot of snow prior to kickoff. In order to make sure the stadium is safe enough for fans to attend the game, the franchise is asking fans to sign up to be a snow shoveler.
Fans who show up to the stadium to help out will be paid $20 per hour. This won't be exclusive to this weekend's game against the 49ers. The Bills will have a similar offer on the table if snow hits the area later this season.
"Due to the unexpected snow patterns, we are asking all who are interested to fill out the google doc and provide the information requested," the Bills said. "Please provide detailed availability so that ABM management and staff can begin creating schedules for each day. ABM will contact you within 24 hours of completion of the document and provide more information.
"Due to unpredictable snowfall, we may not know if shovelers will be needed until the day before. We will call all shovelers based on the availability that is provided on the google doc sheet. The rate of pay will be $20 per hour with food and hot beverages provided."
The Bills are 9-2 heading into this Sunday's game. They have a legitimate chance to get the No. 1 seed in the AFC this season.
ESPN's computer model is giving the Bills a 60.2 percent chance of defeating the 49ers. It'll be interesting to see what type of impact the weather has on this game.
Kickoff for the 49ers-Bills game is at 8:20 p.m. ET.
