NFL Fans React To The Snowy Scene In Buffalo On Sunday
Sunday Night Football will be played in a Winter Wonderland this week.
The Buffalo Bills, who are currently battling for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, are set to host the San Francisco 49ers tonight. Since Friday, the Buffalo area, including Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, has been hit with heavy snow. Reports indicate up to three feet could fall by the time Sunday night's game kicks off.
On Saturday night, the Bills tweeted out video of their cleanup crew attempting to get the stadium and surrounding parking lots ready.
.@SNFonNBC prep. Shoutout to our snow removal crews for getting @HighmarkStadm ready for tomorrow night! #SFvsBUF #BillsMafia," the Bills account wrote.
Back in January, the NFL delayed the Bills-Steelers playoff game by one day due to a severe snowstorm, but tonight's matchup is on as scheduled.
Fans on social media have had fun discussing the snowy scene from Orchard Park on Sunday morning.
"And the Bills and NYS tax payers are spending 2 billion dollars in 2024 to build an outdoor stadium in Buffalo. That’s the definition of moronic," the Pick 6 Sports account said.
"Looks like there won’t be much snow coming down during the game . I know things can change quick there though," a second person said.
"This us why outdoor stadiums in winter are great. Its 29 here in Philly. Good to go," a third person added.
"Harmful to not only the players but the fans as well," a fourth person said.
"More footage of this please! How about a live cam?" a fifth added.
One would think the Bills would have the advantage with the weather tonight, even though no team is truly adequately prepared to compete in arctic conditions.
Buffalo, which is 9-2 on the season, definitely has the edge at quarterback, with MVP candidate Josh Allen, and on the injury report. The scuffling 49ers (5-6) will be without several banged up stars, including defensive end Nick Bosa, offensive tackle Trent Williams and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir.
Kickoff for Bills-49ers is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
