George Costanza gave up sex on a classic episode of Seinfeld and became the smartest man in New York City. Cam Newton is apparently trying to follow in his footsteps.

The Carolina Panthers' star quarterback has decided to go coitus-free for an entire month with the goal of bettering himself mentally.

Newton had a trying 2018 season, both physically and mentally, as the Panthers struggled and the star QB dealt with injuries.

The former No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft announced his sex-free plan on the Late Late Show With James Corden.

“In March — and I hope this is an adult crowd — no climax,” Newton told the audience. “I’m going through a transition right now.”

Another guest on the show suggested that Newton should've done this in February, considering it's only 28 days long. March, of course, has 31 days.

“I wanted it to be challenging,” Newton said. “I’m coming off shoulder surgery."

Newton is trying to get mentally stronger.

“It makes my mind stronger,” he said. “So when the season comes around, I say if I did those things, I’m mentally stronger.”

The 29-year-old quarterback was the NFL's MVP in 2015 and is coming off, arguably, his best passing season (he had career highs in completions and completion percentage).

The goal is to be better in 2019, though, and Newton is going all-out to make that happen - just not in the bedroom.
