Cam Newton has been one of the most active athletes on social media following his release from the Carolina Panthers.
The former No. 1 overall pick made it clear he wanted to remain with the franchise. However, the Panthers had other ideas, cutting Newton to save nearly $20 million heading into the 2020 season.
In the week since his release, Newton has posted a series of messages on Instagram. That latest of which, shows the former Auburn star running through drills, hitting with receivers in stride.
He also decided to add a little message for those who doubted him. “People love a good underdog story. This ain’t that. S***, I’ve been a dog. #shinethroughtheshde,” Newton said on Instagram.
The former NFL MVP has been vocal about the Panthers’ decision to release him. Newton suggested the team “gave up on me” before releasing him.
Now he has the chance to prove the Panthers wrong. He’s been linked to a couple of different NFL franchises including with his former head coach Ron Rivera in Washington.
Other teams like the Los Angeles Chargers and even the New England Patriots were mentioned as potential landing spots for the former No. 1 overall pick.
Where will Newton land next?
