Cardinals vs. Panthers preview:

The Cardinals tied with the Seahawks last week in a 6-6 defensive snoozefest of a game. It did, however reveal just how good the Cardinals' defense is; Seattle was unable to run the ball or find the end zone, and Russell Wilson couldn't seem to get into a rhythm. Carson Palmer, however, looked okay throwing for 342 yards on 29-of-49 passing. He's the lynchpin to this team's success if they want to be a title contender.

The Panthers are coming off a bye week, hopefully refreshed and refocused to at least try and staunch the bleeding from this giant wound of a season. With their only win being over the 49ers (a game in which the 49ers still scored 27), it's looking like shipping away half the defense away wasn't such a good move. The offense is more or less fine; the defense is a revolving door.

Cardinals vs. Panthers prediction:

Despite the FPI and the spread favoring the Panthers, I think the Cardinals win this game. Yeah, the Cardinals only mustered six points last week, but that was against an elite Seattle defense. This week Carson Palmer has an opportunity to find some consistency in his game against a truly awful secondary. David Johnson might have 200 total yards this week.

Cardinals 37, Panthers 24
