CFL Team 'Kicking The Tires' On Signing Colin Kaepernick

Could we see Kaepernick on a football team soon?

Colin Kaepernick parted ways with the San Francisco 49ers in March and has been looking for work ever since.

Many around the league believe NFL owners are blackballing the quarterback after his protests during the 2016 NFL season. A new report has now linked him to a Canadian Football League team.

According to a report from the Montreal Gazette, the Montreal Alouettes have reached out to Colin Kaepernick's agent.

From the report:

After Tuesday’s practice, Reed admitted he has reached out to Kaepernick’s agent, basically to inform him of the situation, but has never spoken to the former San Francisco 49er. Kaepernick hasn’t been invited to Montreal, either for a visit or to work out for the team, Reed quickly added.

“He’s in the midst of some very important things,” Reed said. “We understand there’s a movement going on around him. We’re doing our due diligence and making certain they know we want to see where he’s at. It’s a matter of kicking the tires at this stage."

It's too early in the process to know if there's a real shot for Kaepernick to join a CFL team, but his name draws headlines wherever he goes.

Would Kaepernick take a football job that isn't in the NFL?
