Chase Claypool's already rough tenure with the Chicago Bears will hit another sour patch on Sunday.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Claypool will be inactive when the Bears host the Denver Broncos this afternoon. The decision comes after Claypool questioned whether the coaching staff was utilizing him correctly during a midweek session with reporters.

The fourth-year pro had previously been called out for a perceived lack of effort in Chicago's Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Claypool has essentially been a non-factor since being acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers via midseason trade last year. In 10 games with the Bears since that deal, he's registered only 18 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown.

Claypool has four catches for 51 yards and a TD so far this season. Chicago was certainly hoping for more production out of the former Notre Dame standout when it traded away what wound up being the 32nd overall pick for Claypool last Nov. 1.

With Claypool on the bench today, Equanimeous St. Brown, another Notre Dame alum, is slated to make his Bears' debut. Rapoport also says undrafted rookie free agent Tyson Bagent is the team's new backup quarterback.

Chicago and Denver will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
