There are a bunch of really good teams and some really bad ones in the NFL right now. So who does ESPN's computer model think is the worst team in the league right now?

It really shouldn't be that hard to figure out. According to ESPN's Football Power Index, the 0-3 Chicago Bears are the worst team in the NFL with a -6.3 rating on the index. The FPI measures a team's "true strength" on net points scale and calculates the expected point margin versus an average opponent on a neutral field.

The -6.3 rating indicates that the Bears are nearly a touchdown worse than any average NFL opponent on a neutral field.

In fairness, they're not the worst team in the league by a large margin on the FPI. The Arizona Cardinals narrowly come in second worse at -6.2, while the Carolina Panthers are -5.6.

It's not just the FPI where the Chicago Bears are considered the worst team though. Just about every major outlet in the country believes that Chicago is the worst team in the league by far.

Until the Bears get their first win of the season or at least stop looking like ones its worst in even a single game, that seems unlikely to change.

Are the Bears the NFL's worst team right now?
