Report: Caleb Williams Making Equipment Change Ahead Of Week 3

After some inconsistent play over his first couple games, Bears No. 1 pick Caleb Williams is reportedly making a change.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the change has to do with a piece of equipment that may help him keep the offense on schedule better than he did in the first two weeks.

Per the national insider: "@StaceyDales reports that #Bears QB Caleb Williams will wear a wristband today for the first time, with hopes of having a faster and cleaner operation."

"Smart adjustment," he noted.

Others gave their thoughts on Williams' decision on social media:

"He needs weapons, not a wristband," a user said.

"So you're telling me they let a rookie go out without the book in hand," a podcast laughed.

"because that's going to make the difference," a fan eye-rolled.

"Now let's get him a hot or the ability to adjust the play when the blitz is coming bc that wasn’t the case last week," Kyle Lindemann replied.

"Shocking this is Caleb Williams' first time wearing a wristband. The guy is addicted to accessories."

"The plan is for him to use it consistently for play-calls throughout the game today," Dales posted. "He's worn a band - but I'm told the calls will work through/off the wrist band. The goal is to speed up the operation so he has more time at the line of scrimmage."

Williams has yet to score his first NFL touchdown through two games. But the Bears are sitting at 1-1 with the chance to move up the NFC North standings with a win over the Colts.

He and Chicago's struggling offense enter Sunday's action as two-point underdogs on the road.

Kickoff is at 1 PM ET live from Lucas Oil Stadium.
