Training camp for the Cleveland Browns kicked off a few weeks ago and there was one notable absence. Star wide receiver Josh Gordon took a leave of absence from the team in order to focus on his health.
After nearly a month away, he's back. Gordon released a statement early Saturday afternoon announcing his return to the football team.
In his statement, he thanked those that have helped him out during his absence.
"As I humbly return to being a member of this team with an opportunity to get back to playing the game I love, I realize in order for me to reach my full potential my primary focus must remain on my sobriety and mental well-being," Gordon said in the statement.
Gordon's road back to the NFL after suspension hasn't been easy, but the former Baylor standout looks to be in good mental health as he enters the 2018 season.
He'll be a huge piece of the Cleveland offense and it will be interesting to see what the Browns are capable of following a winless 2017 campaign.
