The Washington Commanders released kicker Brandon McManus on Sunday, and it appears that they've already found a replacement.

According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, the Commanders are signing Ramiz Ahmed.

Ahmed spent time with the UFL's Birmingham Stallions this season, taking over for an injured Chris Blewitt. He made 10 of his 13 field goal attempts, including four makes from over 40 yards out.

Ahmed holds the record for the longest made field goal in the revived USFL, making a 61-yarder. In addition to Birmingham, he also spent time with the Pittsburgh Maulers and the New Jersey Generals.

The Commanders parted ways with McManus after the veteran kicker was accused of sexual assault in a recent lawsuit. The suit was levied against both McManus and his former team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Two women working as flight attendants on the Jaguars' trip to London last year say McManus assaulted them on the flight.

The women, working with the Jaguars for the first time, say that the flight "quickly turned into a party," with alcohol, marijuana and reckless behavior.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited on NFL team flights, and marijuana is still considered an illegal substance by the league despite being legal in several states.

It's also illegal to possess marijuana on a plane under federal law, as well as illegal at a recreational level in the United Kingdom.

McManus has denied the allegations, and his attorney has said that they are "absolutely false and importantly, are contradicted by indisputable evidence and the accusers’ own prior inconsistent statements and omissions."

"While we are disappointed with the team’s decision to release Brandon before he had the opportunity to defend against these fabricated claims, we will aggressively defend and clear Brandon’s name and reputation through the legal process," the attorney said in a statement following Washington's decision to release McManus.

"We intend to defeat these claims, fully exonerate him and look forward to seeing him back on the field where he belongs.”
