Dallas Cowboys Make Decision On Who Will Start vs. Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys made a firm commitment to start rookie quarterback Dak Prescott against the Eagles in Week 8.

The quarterback controversy in Dallas is over. Well, at least until after the Cowboys' Week 8 date against the Philadelphia Eagles. According to Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network, Prescott will be starting against the Eagles after the Dallas' Week 7 bye.

When Tony Romo was injured in the preseason the Cowboys targeted a return date of October 30, the game against the Eagles. Romo will not be ready for that game, and he might not be fully ready for the Cowboys game against the Browns in Week 9.

If he is healthy, the Week 9 date with the Browns offers a perfect time for Romo to come back and get an easy game under his belt. Cleveland has been the worst team in the NFL so far this year, and its defense is suspect at best.

If Prescott continues to play well, head coach Jason Garrett will have a tough call on who to start at quarterback when Romo is healthy.
