Jerry Jones Announces Likely Thursday Night Decision On Dalvin Cook
The Dallas Cowboys will likely be without one of their running backs again for Thursday's game against the New York Giants.
On Tuesday, owner Jerry Jones announced on 105.3 The FAN that he doesn't expect Dalvin Cook to play on Thursday.
Cook signed with the Cowboys practice squad on August 28 but has yet to appear in a game since he's been trying to get acclimated with his teammates and the playbook.
He spent the 2023 season with the New York Jets, compiling 67 carries for 214 yards and no touchdowns. Before that, he spent the first six seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, rushing for over 1,000 yards in four of those seasons.
His best individual season came in 2020 when he compiled 312 carries for 1,557 yards and 16 touchdowns.
With Cook likely out again, it'll be the Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle show for the Cowboys. Elliott has compiled 19 carries for 62 yards while Dowdle has 23 carries for 88 yards.
Both the Cowboys and Giants come into this matchup with identical 1-2 records and are trying to get back to .500.
Kickoff will be at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video. Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will have the call.
