Jerry Jones Makes Decision On Cowboys Tanking Final 4 Games

The Dallas Cowboys may have very slim playoff hopes but that doesn't mean Jerry Jones wants them to lose their last four games.

Jones isn't interested in tanking these last four games for a better draft pick. He wants all of his players to make winning plays to try and have success.

"We want everybody making the plays and having the opportunity to have success. Success is very important," Jones said. "We'll go out there and win every down."

Tanking is not in Jones's MO and never has been. He's always someone who wants to win every game, no matter how good or bad they are.

The Cowboys dropped to 5-8 after losing a heartbreaker to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. They blocked a punt in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter but didn't recover the ball, allowing the Bengals to regain possession.

The Bengals made them pay after that when quarterback Joe Burrow hit Ja'Marr Chase for a long touchdown. There wasn't enough time for the Cowboys to drive down the field for the game-tying touchdown, leading to their loss.

Next up for the Cowboys is a game against a Carolina Panthers team that has played some close games over the last few weeks. They only lost by six against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday and that came a week after they only lost by three against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It even came two weeks after they only lost by three against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bryce Young has been much better since coming off the bench.

After the Panthers, the Cowboys will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders to finish the season.

Kickoff for this Sunday's Cowboys-Panthers game will be at 1 p.m. ET.
