NFL Fans React To Possibility Of Mike McCarthy Returning In 2025

The Dallas Cowboys could see Mike McCarthy return as head coach for the 2025 season.

Even though it may be unlikely since the Cowboys are 4-7, owner Jerry Jones didn't rule it out during a radio appearance on 105.3 The FAN.

"I don't think that's crazy at all. This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there and done that. He has great ideas. We got a lot of football left," Jones said

NFL fans had some hilarious reactions upon seeing that quote.

"Mike McCarthy’s contract isn’t extended after three consecutive 12-5 seasons, but Jerry Jones might do it after whatever becomes of a current 4-7 season? Jerry knows how to deliver talk show topics," one tweet read.

"Jerry Jones might be the first thing I say I’m thankful for on Thursday," another tweet read.

"I will never forgive Jerry Jones for making me empathize with Cowboys fans," another fan tweeted.

"I'm so glad I stopped being a fan of this team a decade ago," another tweet read.

"You can win a Super Bowl with McCarthy. This team can’t though," another fan tweeted.

Before this season, McCarthy led the Cowboys to three straight 12-win seasons but they didn't go deep in the playoffs in any of those seasons. He came into the 2024 season without an extension and that's still the case today.

There's always a chance that McCarthy comes back if the Cowboys end the season on a high note but that's to be determined.

They'll be back in action this Thursday on Thanksgiving when they host the New York Giants
