The first two years of Dalvin Cook’s career have been plagued by injuries, but the former second-round pick finally looks healthy as he enters his third season.
Cook is considered one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL. Minnesota can rely on him to carry the backfield and be a factor in the passing game.
Although the Vikings weren’t planning on playing Cook at all on Saturday, the coaching staff decided to let him receive a few carries.
Well, it only took two carries for Cook to show that he’s ready for Week 1 of the regular season.
On his second carry of the afternoon, the Florida State product went 85 yards to the house. His touchdown sent the crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium into a frenzy.

Minnesota wisely took out Cook for the remainder of the game.
Last season was quite disappointing for the Vikings. Many people thought the addition of Kirk Cousins would help lead them to the Super Bowl.
With Cousins back for his second season and Cook looking healthy, the Vikings are certainly a threat in the NFC. They’ll get the chance to redeem themselves very soon.
As for the third week of the preseason, Minnesota leads 7-3 over Arizona in the first half.
