Danny Amendola is doing pretty well for himself this year. The star wide receiver was the hero in the AFC Championship Game, and dominated the Eagles in the Super Bowl, but the Patriots were outmatched on offense.
The 32-year-old wide receiver starred for Texas Tech in college, taking over for Wes Welker. Coincidentally, he took over for Wes Welker once again at the NFL level when he joined the Patriots in 2013.
The Pats star had nine catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the 24-20 win over Jacksonville. He also racked up over 150 yards on eight receptions in the Super Bowl.
After the AFC Championship game, the former Red Raiders’ standout was spotted celebrating with his girlfriend, Olivia Culpo. Culpo is a former Miss Universe contestant. Not only that, she won the pageant in 2012.
However, the two may have split. Amendola appears to have deleted all photos of Culpo from his Instagram account, and unfollowed her. Culpo, meanwhile, still has photos of the couple.
Could the potential split have anything to do with Amendola leaving New England? The former Patriots star cashed in his solid playoff performances with a 2-year, $12 million deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder, but maybe not in this case.
