Danny Kanell Has An Interesting Take On Kirk Cousins

Danny Kanell isn't afraid of a hot take. The anti-SEC pundit has produced numerous hot takes over the years, but he may have just laid down the hottest take of them all.

NFL free agency officially kicked off Wednesday afternoon. Some of the biggest names in free agency are already off the board - including former Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Cousins signed a 3-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings for a fully-guaranteed $84 million. The team likely sees him as the missing link, after falling to the Eagles in the NFC Championship game last season with Case Keenum under center.

Danny Kanell agrees with the Vikings. The former ESPN personality thinks Cousins can have the same impact on Minnesota that Drew Brees had on New Orleans.

In 12 seasons with the Saints, Brees has led the league in passing yards seven times, in completion percentage and touchdowns four times, and led the team to a Super Bowl win in 2009. He's one of the most-consistent quarterbacks in NFL history, let alone his time with the Saints.

Cousins has a lot to live up to if he's to produce with the level of consistency that Brees has laid down since he entered the league in 2001.

In his three complete seasons as a starter for the Redskins, Cousins has thrown for at least 4,000 yards, completed over 65-percent of his passes, and thrown 81 touchdowns.
