When asked about former teammate A.J.Bouye signing with the division rival Jaguars, Texans star DeAndre Hopkins took a huge shot at Jags' standout Jalen Ramsey.
The Jaguars took a huge step in bolstering a leaky secondary, in pairing Bouye, coming off of a huge year with Houston, with Ramsey, who had a strong first season in the NFL.
Hopkins used Bouye's new deal as an opportunity to rip Ramsey, a fiery player in his own right. SportsRadio 610's Alex Del Barrio spoke to Hopkins, who said that Bouye better cover him next year when the two AFC South teams face off, because Ramsey "couldn't get the job done."
In two games against Jacksonville last season, Hopkins caught 13 of 30 targets for a total of 135 yards and no touchdowns. The Texans did win both match-ups. In the two games, Hopkins had four third down catches for 34 yards, and drew two penalties against Ramsey.
Ramsey spent much of his first year in the NFL in a war of words with Steve Smith, one of the NFL's preeminent trash talkers, so we would expect a big swing back from the former Florida State star soon.
