On Tuesday afternoon, Deion Sanders embarrassed himself in a Twitter spat with what he thought was a "fan." Sanders, who is an analyst for NFL Network, weighed in on the debate of "who is the best safety in football."

It didn't work out too well for him. After proclaiming Tyrann Mathieu to be the best, another Twitter user called the Hall of Famer out for not talking about the two All-Pro safeties from the 2017 season - Kevin Byard of the Tennessee Titans and Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings.

Sanders claimed Mathieu as the best safety in the game, when Twitter user Kevin Byard sent out the following.

Sanders didn't take long to respond. The only problem? He didn't know Byard was in the NFL, and called the All-Pro safety a "fan."

Not great for someone who works as an NFL analyst. The Tennessee Titans selected Byard with the 64th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then he's become one of the best safeties in the game, despite what a former NFL star might think.
