2023 marks the second year of the Russell Wilson era for the Denver Broncos.

Everyone associated with the team is hoping that the second year goes better than the first, which saw Wilson have perhaps the worst individual season of his career and the team finish last in the AFC West.

One of the people hoping for a turnaround is Broncos legend Mark Schlereth. The three-time Super Bowl champion (two with Denver) says he wants to see one thing from Wilson this season.

"I say this a bunch about Russell Wilson," Schlereth said in an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

"Be real. The inauthentic nature sometimes, I call it 'toxic positivity.'"

Schlereth went on to explain a meeting with Wilson last season before a game where he asked the quarterback to expand on his claim that he needed to improve his own play.

Schlereth said that when he asked Wilson about it, the quarterback began to talk about what the team needed to do to improve.

"I want to know what YOU have to do, and I kid you not he couldn't answer the question," Schlereth added.

He said that Wilson needs to take true accountability when he plays poorly, something Schlereth believes will help Wilson earn the respect of his teammates and peers around the league once again.
