Deshaun Watson Taking Big Step At Practice Thursday, Per Teammate
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson hasn't played since the team defeated the Tennessee Titans on September 24. Watson has been out with a shoulder injury on his throwing arm, and the Browns have tried multiple options at quarterback in his absence.
On Wednesday, it appeared that Watson gave Browns fans bad news when he said that he wasn't able to provide a timeline on when he would be able to play again.
The situation appears to have improved on Thursday, as one of Watson's teammates says that the quarterback is further along than previously anticipated.
ESPN's Jake Trotter says that Browns receiver Amari Cooper told him that Watson would be practicing on Thursday.
If that happens and the quarterback is a full participant, it would be Watson's first practice since September 22 - a few days before he suffered the injury.
The Browns were able to pull off a huge upset last week without Watson, defeating the previously undefeated 49ers at home.
With Watson clearly the team's first choice for a starting quarterback, the Browns will want him back on the field as soon as possible to see what the team can do at full strength.
Watson is currently questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts, a status that opens the door for his return if all goes well with practice this week.
