NFL Fans Loving Calvin Johnson's Appearance On Wednesday

A closeup of Calvin Johnson on the Detroit Lions sideline.

For the past few years, there was bad blood between Calvin Johnson and the Lions. Thankfully, that is no longer the case in Detroit.

Earlier this year, Johnson told Jim Rome that his relationship with the Lions is improving. He validated that statement with his actions this week.

Johnson showed up to the Lions' OTA practice Wednesday to check out his former squad.

The official Twitter account for the Lions shared a brief video of head coach Dan Campbell embracing Johnson at practice.

As you'd expect, Detroit fans were overwhelmed with emotions after seeing this video.

"Waited 8 years for this," one fan said.

"Love love love," a second fan tweeted.

Another fan replied, "Can you fill in during Williams’ suspension?"

Johnson had nothing but positive things to say about his experience Wednesday.

“Being able to talk to the coaches and whatnot, it’s very cool,” Johnson said. “I’m a fan of the game, I’m a fan of Dan and the coaching staff he has over there because I know how much the team will learn from that, will glean from that. It’s very exciting the way they ended last year, it’s very exciting the way they’re going into this year.”

It's a new era in Detroit, and that's a great thing for Johnson and the Lions.
