For years, Lions fans have been begging the franchise to mend their relationship with Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Well, it sounds like that wish could be granted fairly soon.

During an interview with Jim Rome this week, Johnson revealed that he had "some good conversations" with the Lions.

"I’m excited about him actually reaching out and putting the effort forward to try and make that happen," Johnson said, via Pride of Detroit. "That’s the difference that I have not seen in the past that’s happening now."

Johnson's relationship with the Lions was on rocky terms after the team reclaimed $1.6 million from him.

As you'd expect, Detroit fans are thrilled that Johnson's relationship with the Lions is finally trending up once again.

"It's about damn time," one fan said. "Good on you, Lions."

"Another sign the ship is turning and these are not the same old Lions," a second fan tweeted.

"Bring him back, role in the org, pay him well, put 81 in the rafters," a third person commented. "Doesn’t have to be difficult."

Johnson, who had an extraordinary career in the Motor City, would love to help out the Lions in the future.

“I want to be back around football and help out the team,” Johnson said. “Not that they need my help, but I have a lot of experience to share with those guys, whether it’s football or off the field. I definitely could be of value to the organization."

Hopefully, we'll see Megatron back with the Lions in some capacity.
