Dez Bryant is intent on making it back to the NFL. As part of his ongoing comeback training, he recently worked out with Patrick Mahomes.
As imporant as this session was for Bryant--after all, he's trying to get his career back--it also had to be meaningful for Mahomes. After all, as a high school star in Texas, Mahomes once said Dez was his favorite player.
It seems like the feeling is mutual. Dez posted on Twitter this afternoon that not only is Mahomes his son's favorite player, but he's also his own favorite. The cycle is complete.
"It’s crazy how life goes full circle...@PatrickMahomes is my son Dez JR favorite player also he’s my favorite player....pretty damn cool," Bryant tweeted.
Dez still has his work cut out for him. He hasn't played in the NFL since 2017, and a torn Achilles cost him his first comeback attempt during the 2018 season.
We wouldn't be surprised if he gets some tryout looks or even gets into camp with a team, but it would be noteworthy if he actually played in a regular season game in 2020.
We're rooting for him though.
