Report: New York Jets WR Eric Decker Headed For IR

New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker is headed to the IR after suffering a shoulder injury.

Eric Decker has been sidelined with a shoulder injury for the past two games. His return looked probable, but now ESPN is claiming the Jets are planning to put Decker in the injured reserve. According to Adam Schefter and Field Yates, Decker will be placed on the IR, effectively ending his season.

Decker played three games with the Jets this season, catching nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. The seventh-year wide receiver is a leading target on the Jets team, and his absence for the rest of the season does not bode well for the New York offense.

Decker is coming off of one of the best seasons of his career, in which he caught 80 passes for 1,027 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Jets are 1-4 this season and the loss of Decker does not help at all.

New York travels to Arizona to take on the Cardinals on Monday Night Football.
