The 2017 Super Bowl between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots will forever be remembered because of a 28-3 blown lead. In honor of that game, fans around the world are making jokes at Atlanta’s expense on March 28.
With only a few minutes remaining in the third quarter of Super Bowl LI, the Patriots trailed by 25 points to the Falcons. That was until Tom Brady led the team to an improbable win.
It took a few fluky plays down the stretch – Julian Edelman’s juggling reception – for the Patriots to mount a comeback, but sometimes you need a little luck in the NFL.
Since the numerical date for today is 3-28, the football community is firing off their best jokes to remind us of the scoreboard during the third quarter of Super Bowl LI. Falcons fans might want to look away.
Happy 3-28 Day Falcons!

Honestly, it’s tough to envision a future where Atlanta doesn’t get mocked for this game.
Fans in New Orleans are certainly having fun with today’s date. After all, there will always be bad blood between the Falcons and Saints.
As for Patriots fans, celebrating the 2017 Super Bowl win should take their minds off losing Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.
