Everyone's Saying Same Thing About Sunday's Jets vs. Giants Game

New York will probably gladly let New Jersey claim the Jets and Giants following Sunday's game.

The teams combined for more punts (24) than points in a game that cruelly went into overtime. After kicking a field goal on the final play of regulation, the Jets escaped with a 13-10 win.

"One of the ugliest best games you’ll ever see," Andrew Catalon said on the CBS Sports broadcast.

Viewers co-signed the sentiment, finding entertainment in the chaos of a game that hardly resembled the typical 2023 NFL contest.

"Giants and Jets Ugliest Game Ever- but also one of the BEST," a fan wrote.

"The Giants and Jets game has been UGLY. Neither team deserves to win," a fan said before overtime.

"Giants-Jets feels like a high school game, and I mean that in the best *and* worst ways," Bomani Jones wrote.

"Giants-Jets going into overtime at 10-10 is like unlimited boneless wings at Applebees — an endless amount of something so bad it’s good," Meadowlark Media's Charlotte Wilder wrote.

"That could be the ugliest win in the history of football from the Jets," the New York Post's Jake Brown declared. "What a ridiculous, absurd game."

Tyrod Taylor, who was replacing Daniel Jones, left the game with injured ribs. That prompted the Giants to deploy a high school offense.

Tommy DeVito tallied -1 passing yard on seven passes. The Giants finished with -9 passing yards while running 52 times.

They made Zach Wilson look like a quarterback savant in comparison despite Aaron Rodgers' replacement only completing 17 of 36 passes. Meanwhile, Breece Hall mustered 17 rushing yards on a dozen handoffs.

Both teams combined to convert four of 34 third-down conversions and commit 15 penalties for 158 yards. That includes a blatant 30-yard pass interference call on Giants cornerback Adoree' Jackson that set up a game-winning 33-yard field goal for Greg Zuerlein.

While it wasn't pretty, the Jets maintained their playoff hopes by improving to 4-3. The Giants, meanwhile, should give serious thought to selling before Tuesday's trade deadline after falling to 2-6.
