Former Cleveland Browns' interim head coach Gregg Williams has reportedly landed a new job.
Williams, who led the Browns during the second half of the 2018 regular season after Hue Jackson's firing, is heading to the AFC East.
The defensive-minded coach will be the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets.
The deal has reportedly been finalized.
The Jets were reportedly targeting Williams for their DC job no matter who was hired as head coach.
"Jets finalizing deal with former Browns’ interim HC Gregg Williams to become their defensive coordinator, per source. Williams was the defensive coordinator the Jets were targeting no matter who their HC was; they got their man," ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted.
Williams will join Adam Gase in New York as the Jets attempt to improve heading into the 2019 season.
The Jets are coming off a 4-12 season, but have some hope with a young quarterback in Sam Darnold.
