A former Pro Bowl running back has been released. Although the move was expected, it's always big NFL news when a former Pro Bowler gets released from his time.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the release of running back Chris Ivory. Now, this was always going to be the move after the Jaguars drafted Leonard Fournette with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The move will save the team $3.75 million against the salary cap. Jacksonville announced the news on Twitter.

Ivory began his career as an undrafted free agent, and played sparingly for Saints over three seasons before he was traded to the Jets for a fourth round pick. During his three-season stint in New York, Ivory never rushed for fewer than 800 yards.

In his final season with the Jets, Ivory won the rushing title and was named to the Pro Bowl.
