At the end of May, Greg Olsen revealed that he and his family were looking for a heart transplant donor for his son. Thankfully, they were able to find one last Thursday and had TJ reveal the news to his older brother and twin sister. The eight-year-old also told them that he would have the procedure the following day.
TJ's two siblings were overjoyed with the news and couldn't stop smiling as they embraced him.
Take a look:
TJ underwent the surgery last Friday and everything went smoothly,
UPDATE- TJ is finished with surgery and is being transferred to the ICU. We won’t be able to see him for a few more hours but his doctors are very happy with the surgery. TJ will be sedated for a few days but his road to recovery has begun. https://t.co/JrYayw2j59

">according to a tweet from his father. Before undergoing the transplant, the 8-year-old had needed three open-heart surgeries after being born with congenital heart defect. The procedure was a massive step forward for TJ and the Olsen family.
He's expected to remain in a Charlotte hospital for the time being as he recovers from the recent transplant. Greg Olsen, who called his son a "fighter since birth" said the family will do its best to keep his spirits high.
“We don’t know how long we will be within these hospital walls,” Olsen said, via Charlotte’s WBTV. “We do know that we are in full control of our attitudes and our outlook.”
The former NFL tight end also shared a video of TJ after the procedure.
Needless to say, this is awesome to see. We wish the Olsen family the best as TJ continues to recover.
